SiI3124 is a single-chip PCI or PCI-X to 4-port Serial ATA (SATA) host controller that takes SATA performance and features to enterprise levels. The SiI 3124 comes in 2 versions: (1) the SiI3124-1 operates at 1st Generation SATA speeds of 1.5Gbps while (2) the SiI 3124-2 integrates Serial ATA II PHY technology capable of running SATA 2nd Generation speeds of 3Gbps.

  • Serial ATA (SATA) – 3.0 Gbps (300MB/s) and 1.5 Gbps (150MB/s)
  • Compliant with SATA 1.0, and ATA, SATA II Extensions to SATA 1.0:
    • Port Multiplier with FIS-based switching
    • Native Command Queuing with non-zero offsets
  • Four independent DMA channels with 2KB FIFO per channel
  • Independent command fetch, scatter/gather, and command execution
  • Multimaster I2C interface
  • Supports up to 4MB external FLASH
  • Supports ATAPI devices: CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, etc.
  • Supports hot-plug of SATA devices
  • One activity LED per channel
  • Output swing control for backplane and extended cable length applications
  • Supports spread spectrum clocking to reduce EMI
  • JTAG Boundary Scan compliant with IEEE std 1149.1
